Ullern Chamber Choir

Ullern Chamber Choir was founded in October 1995 and over the years has attracted singers from all over Oslo. The repertoire consists of great pieces such as the motets by Bach, Mozart’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Seasons , Griegs’s Four Hymns, Händel’s Messiah and Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
In addition to giving a large number of concerts in Norway, the Choir also frequently tours Europa. During these tours the choir has given concerts in some of Europe’s finest churches such as Nikolaikirche (Leipzig), St. Paul’s Cathedral (London) and Christ Church (Oxford).

Conductor Gjermund Brenne
Gjermund Brenne ( b. 1978 ) holds a Master degree in church music, specialized in conducting and organ playing from the State academy of music in Oslo and the Hochschule für Music und Theater, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig, Germany.  He has since 2002 been the cantor at Fagerborg Church and has since 2001 conducted Ullern Chamber Choir.
Gjermund Brenne also teaches liturgical music at the Norwegian School of Theology in Oslo. He has also worked as musical advisor and instructor on several TV and film projects for the Norwegian Broadcasting Cooperation, and has since 2007 been artistic director for Fagerborg Organ Festival in Oslo.
